GO USA! HAT

This bold hat embodies the spirit of the American Flag. Incorporating an i-cord border and jogless stripes, the hat is knit completely in stockinette stitch for a quick project. Easy to embroider stars complete the flag motif. Make the companion, Go USA Cowl, for a complete patriotic statement look!

One size - to fit heads approximately 21-23” in circumference.

There are two video tutorials for this pattern, one for picking up along the i-cord border for the main portion of the hat and a second for embroidering the stars onto the hat. Visit the 3 Kittens Needle Arts channel on YouTube to watch the videos.

Materials Needed: 

• 3 skeins worsted weight yarn (~219 yards ea) - one each of 3 colors (we recommend Berroco Lanas)
• US 7/4.5mm circular needle - 16” long
• US 7/4.5mm dpns
• Tapestry needle
• Stitch marker

This pattern can be made with any worsted weight yarn; however, if using red and white, please check for color fastness by knitting a swatch with both the red and white and wetting thoroughly. Use a Shout Color Catcher sheet in your water to catch any excess dye. Allow to dry and check to see if the red has bled into the white.
