Job Listing - Yarn Department Sale.....

Currently, we do not have any job openings in our Yarn Department, but when we do, this is what we will be looking for:

Yarn Sales Associate

Are you a knitter or crocheter (or both!) and want to share your knowledge with others and help them enjoy yarn as much as you do? If so, you may be our next Yarn Department Sales Associate.

Our customer-oriented retail staff are passionate about yarn and understand the value of the local yarn store in our community. They love to help customers find a new project or help them solve technical problems with their current projects. They provide inspiration, expertise and advice in a friendly, courteous and supportive manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Friendly, outgoing, patient, and a good listener
• Passionate about knitting with good yarn
• Know how to (or are willing to learn) crochet
• Able to prioritize and execute tasks with little direction
• Work effectively with other members of a team
• Be enthusiastic about technology and social media
• Have retail experience (not required, but a definite plus)
• Accurate and detail oriented
• Able to work 2-3 days a week. Because of the nature of retail, weekends and evenings may be required.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting customers in the selection of yarn, projects and tools
• Helping customers with knitting/crochet questions or issues
• Labeling and restocking inventory
• Creating engaging displays
• Working accurately with our Point of Sale system
• Locating pattern ideas for customers on Ravelry
• Maintaining a clean and tidy store
• Helping to plan and work events as needed
