KATE DAVIES HAT FUSION (knit) - Saturdays from 9-11am beginning Jan 7
This class is a great introduction to stranded knitting. Choose between three hats designed by Kate Davies, a star of the Shetland knitting tradition. You're sure to find a favorite!

- Pattern - Choose from 3 Kate Davies designs (clockwise from top in photo) - Knitting Season, Sheep Heid, or Green Shoots Tam (~$6.00 on Ravelry)
- Yarn - Fingering weight - we recommend Jamieson's Shetland Spindrift - see chosen pattern for # of colors and amount needed. Althernative yarn - Universal Yarns Uni Merino Mini. Yarn must be purchased separately from 3 Kittens Needle Arts.
- Needles - see chosen pattern for recommended needle size
- Gauge - see chosen pattern for recommended gauge
- Knit kit including stitch markers
Homework -
Please read through pattern and make notes of any questions you have.
Knit a gauge swatch in stockinette stitch using the recommended needle size for your pattern. Swatch should be knit in the round and should be at least 8" square. Bind off. Block. Bring to first class.

Cancellation Policy - Student cancellations must be made at least one week prior to the class to receive a refund for the class fee. After that date, class fees are not refundable and cannot be transferred to another class. Any yarn or supplies purchased for the class are subject to our regular return policy. 3 Kittens may need to cancel a class if not enough people sign up, but we try to provide other options when we can. We may need to reschedule due to weather or teacher illness.

| Instructor Bio: | Mary Ann Brooks was born and raised in South Minneapolis and now lives in Apple Valley. She has been with 3K for 5 years and teaches beginning knitting, project classes and tool box sessions. Mary Ann started knitting when she was 7 years old and although her projects were not fabulous, she has continued knitting throughout her life and knits every day. Her knitting has improved over the years! Knitting samples for the shop is a favorite because it challenges knitting skills and requires knitting that is sometimes out of her comfort zone. Her other favorite is teaching. Mary Ann enjoys encouraging students to learn new skills either as a first time knitter or as a more experienced knitter trying a pattern that requires new skills or a different method. Mary Ann says " I imagine knitting will always be a part of my life and I hope to be with 3K for many years!" |
