HARVEST CARDIGAN (knit) - Saturdays from 9-11am beginning Sep 9



Harvest is part of Tin Can Knit's Simple Collection, making it a perfect first sweater project. This seamless cardigan has options for an open front or a button closure. Make it for yourself or a knitworthy recipient. 

Skills taught in this class:

  • Negative vs positive ease (fit/sizing)
  • Provisional crochet cast on
  • Picking up stitches
  • Optional: 1-row buttonhole
Class Materials:
  • Pattern - Harvest by Tin Can Knits (free; students should download and print the pattern from Tin Can Knits Website or you can also use the Tin Can Knits app to view the pattern)
  • Yarn (must be purchased separately from 3 Kittens Needle Arts) - worsted weight yarn: 1000-2300 yards for adult sizes. We suggest Berroco Ultra Wool, Berroco Lanas, Malabrigo Rios, Malabrigo Washted, or Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok.
  • Needles - US 8/5mm 16" and 32" circulars and dpns (or size to obtain gauge) and US 6/4.5mm 32" circulars and dpns
  • Gauge - 18 sts/4" in stockinette stitch
  • Knit kit including stitch markers and locking stitch markers; pen/pencil and paper

Homework - 
Please read through pattern and make notes of any questions you have.
Knit a gauge swatch as follows: Using US 8 needles, cast on 30 sts. Work in stockinette stitch for 6". Bind off. Block. Check gauge. Adjust needle size if necessary. (Repeat this process until you achieve the recommended gauge. Ask us for a copy of our Gauge Swatch Information Sheet!)

Cancellation Policy - Student cancellations must be made at least one week prior to the class to receive a refund for the class fee. After that date, class fees are not refundable and cannot be transferred to another class. Any yarn or supplies purchased for the class are subject to our regular return policy3 Kittens may need to cancel a class if not enough people sign up, but we try to provide other options when we can. We may need to reschedule due to weather or teacher illness.


Skill Level: Intermediate
Skill Details: Students must understand RS/WS; know how to read their knitting; be able to fix minor mistakes; understand gauge; be able to read a pattern; be able to work basic increases/decreases; know how to finish and block.
Instructor: Elizabeth
Instructor Bio: Elizabeth joined the 3 Kittens staff in July 2017 as a sales associate and an instructor. She enjoys knitting cables and textures. She has had several designs published which can be found on Ravelry and at www.yarn.com. Elizabeth is a certified Master Knitter.
