JOINING NEW YARNS (knit/crochet) via Zoom - Sunday, Mar 6 from 2:30-3:30pm CT
New knitters and crocheters often wonder how to join a new yarn in the middle of a project. You will learn several methods in this Zoom class. Class will be recorded and will be available to students for two weeks following the class.
Skills taught in this class:
- Knot at the edge
- Russian join
- Splicing yarn
Class Materials (click on the links to order your items for delivery or pick up before class; if shipping, please allow at least 5 days):
- Yarn - Worsted weight yarn (100% wool, non-superwash) - light to medium color, smooth (no texture); we recommend Berroco Lanas; however, you can use yarn from your stash
- Needles/Hooks - US 8/5mm knitting needles (circular, straight or dpn) OR US H/5mm crochet hook
- Knit kit including tapestry needle, scissors, paper and pen/pencil
Students must have access to Zoom!
Homework - Make one swatch as follows:
- Knitters - With US 8/5mm needles, cast on 20 sts. Work in stockinette stitch (knit one row, purl one row) until work measures 2" from cast on edge. End having completed a wrong side row. DO NOT CUT YARN.
- Crocheters - With US H/5mm hook, ch 22. In 2nd ch from hook, sc, sc to end. *Turn work, ch1, sc to end.* Repeat from * to * until work measures 2" from beginning. DO NOT CUT YARN.

Cancellation Policy - Student cancellations must be made at least one week prior to the class to receive a refund for the class fee. After that date, class fees are not refundable and cannot be transferred to another class. Any yarn or supplies purchased for the class are subject to our regular return policy.
