UNDERSTANDING GAUGE (knit) via Zoom - SATURDAY, Apr 17 from 3:30-4:30pm CT
Correct gauge is crucial to a well-fitting garment (hats to sweaters). Ever wonder why the swatch you knit didn't match the gauge of the sweater your made? This lecture class will explain why gauge matters and how to do a swatch which will help you create a beautiful garment! Class will be held via Zoom.

- The correct way to measure a swatch
- How to adjust for the fiber you are using
- How to adjust for too big or too small gauge
Class Materials (click on the links to order your items for delivery or pick up before class; if shipping, please allow at least 5 days):
- Yarn - Sirdar Happy Cotton (100% cotton; 47 yards) - 1 ball in a light color (no substitutions please!)
- Needles - US 6/4mm needles
- Knit Chek or ruler
Homework - Knit a gauge swatch in stockinette stitch using US 6/4mm needles and your ball of Sirdar Happy Cotton. Create your gauge swatch however you would normally make a gauge swatch.
