CHART READING (knit) via Zoom - SATURDAY, Mar 20 from 3:30-4:30pm

Learning how to read knitting charts will open up a whole new world of possibilities! In this class you will learn how to decipher chart symbols and read charts for textures, cables, and colorwork. We will use Charts Made Simple by JC Briar as a reference.

Skills taught in this class:

• How to understand chart symbols
• How to read a texture chart
• How to read a cable chart
• How to read a colorwork chart

Class Materials (click on the links to order your items for delivery or pick up before class; if shipping, please allow at least 5 days):

• Yarn - Worsted weight - light colored, smooth texture (leftovers are fine or purchase one ball of Berroco Ultra Wool)
• Book - Charts Made Simple by JC Briar ($17.95; not required, but recommended)
• US 8/5mm needles (circular, dpn or straight)
• Knit kit including scissors, paper and pen/pencil

Homework - 

• Purchase and wind yarn if necessary
• Make one swatch as follows
  
  • With worsted weight yarn and US 8 needles, cast on 24 sts
  • Row 1 - knit
  • Row 2 - purl
  • DO NOT BIND OFF OR CUT YARN

Instructor Bio:	Elizabeth joined the 3 Kittens staff in July 2017 as a sales associate and an instructor. She enjoys knitting cables and textures. She has had several designs published which can be found on Ravelry and at www.yarn.com. Elizabeth is a certified Master Knitter.
