CABLE BASICS (knit) via Zoom - SATURDAY, Mar 6 from 3:30-4:30pm
Venture into cables! In this class you will learn how to work basic cables and how to understand cable instructions (both written and charted).
Skills taught in this class:
- How to work a right cross cable
- How to work a left cross cable
- How to read written cable instructions
- How to read cable charts
Class Materials (click on the links to order your items for delivery or pick up before class; if shipping, please allow at least 5 days):
- Yarn - Worsted weight - light colored, smooth texture (leftovers are fine or purchase one ball of Berroco Ultra Wool)
- US 8/5mm needles (circular, dpn or straight)
- Knit kit including cable needle, scissors, paper and pen/pencil
Homework -
- Purchase and wind yarn if necessary
- Make one swatch as follows
- With worsted weight yarn and US 8 needles, cast on 24 sts
- Row 1 - k2, p4, k4, p4, k4, p4, k2
- Row 2 - p2, k4, p4, k4, p4, k4, p2
- Repeat Rows 1 and 2 two more times
- DO NOT BIND OFF OR CUT YARN
