The Knitter's Tool Box: Lace 103 - Mixed Doubles - Tuesday May 5 6-7p

THE KNITTER'S TOOL BOX:  This series of one-hour classes is designed to increase your knitterly skill set. Choose from a variety of classes held throughout the year.

The final class in our lace tool box series is designed for those who want to progress to the intermediate level of lace knitting. The class will focus on double increases and double decreases that are essential for many intermediate and advanced lace patterns. Students will make two small leaf samplers that can be used as a pattern reference in the future. Class Type: Hands On

Skills taught in this class:

  • Two double increases
  • Two double decreases
  • Simple leaf motif using these techniques
Required Materials: 
  • Yarn - Smooth, light colored DK or worsted weight yarn (wool, wool blend or cotton)
  • Needles - US 6-8/4.0-5.0mm straight or circular (24" or longer)
  • Other Materials - stitch markers (5 or more)
Homework: Make sure your yarn is wound and ready to knit.

Cancellation Policy - Student cancellations must be made at least one week prior to the class to receive a refund for the class fee. After that date, class fees are not refundable and cannot be transferred to another class. Any yarn or supplies purchased for the class are subject to our regular return policy3 Kittens may need to cancel a class if not enough people sign up, but we try to provide other options when we can. We may need to reschedule due to weather or teacher illness.

Skill Level: intermediate
Skill Details: Students must know knit, purl, RS/WS, long tail cast on, bind off, and understand how to work yarnovers, k2tog, and ssk.
Instructor: Sarah
Instructor Bio: Sarah joined 3 Kittens staff in November 2019 as a sales associate. She has learned to knit while in Finland and enjoys both stranded color work and lace. Her teaching philosophy is to make new techniques approachable and clear so that knitters can expand their skill set enjoyably. She is a visual artist who knits daily and believes that knitting is a wonderful way to reduce stress - while creating warmth and beauty.
