Montana Mountain Cowl - beginning SAT Jan 11 or WED Jan 22

Have fun knitting this mosaic cowl by Andrea Mowry. You will have to work with one color per row - no stranding required. Use a color-changing yarn for a lot of "wow" factor. Practice your chart reading skills or follow the written instructions - your choice!

Skills taught in this class:

  • Mosaic knitting (slipped stitches)
  • Chart reading
  • Kitchener Stitch
Required materials:
  • Pattern - Montana Mountain Cowl by Andrea Mowry (7.00)
  • Yarn (purchased separately at 3 Kittens) - 350 yards MC and 360 yards CC fingering weight yarn.  We used 3K Yarns Abstract (90% SW BFL wool/10% nylon; 400 yards) and Uneek Fingering (100% SW merino wool; 435 yards).
  • Needles - US 5/3.75mm 16" circular or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Notions - knit kit, including US F/3.75mm crochet hook, stitch marker

Homework
  • Read through the pattern before class; make sure to bring all of your supplies to the first class.
