Our Teachers
Julie Mast is one of the owners of 3 Kittens.
She has been stitching for 15 years and teaching needlepoint for 3 years, primarily in our "Stitch with
Julie" class. In addition, she handpaints canvasses for our customers -
anything from adding a name to an existing canvas or painting a whole canvas
from scratch.
Jocelyn Paterson has taught needlework for the
last 34 years in the Twin Cities. She organized a needlework guild in St. Paul
in 1980, which over time became the St. Paul Needleworkers Guild. She taught
classes for Drews Fabric & Needle Art Store and, after its closing in 1988,
continued teaching in her home in North Oaks for the last 19 years. Jocelyn has
a wonderful philosophy –“My thrust has been to encourage my students to keep
stitching through illness and recovery, to try different colors and different
stitches, and to keep trying different types of projects. I am a strong believer
that students should finish their pieces completely.” In addition to teaching,
Jocelyn has been the judge at the Minnesota State Fair for needlepoint and a
number of other needle-related categories for the last 12 years.
Diane Wilson is an employee at 3 Kittens and has
been cross-stitching and needlepointing for many years. A retired
psychiatrist, Diane brings a unique perspective to teaching classes and is fond
of trying new pattern stitches to enhance projects.
Lisa Hugo likes all of the needle arts and
provides expertise for our W.I.P. Needle Arts sessions. A wild and
irrepressible spirit brings life and laughter to your educational experience at
3 Kittens.
